Treking in attapady
Attapady being one of the most remotest corner of kerala and western ghats,is a paradise to the treker - exproling types.Most of the mountains around the lodge could be acccesed only by walking.
We do not have any fixed trek routes as such,all routes are tailor made to suit all types of travellers interests,whether it be tribal habitats,birding,waterfall visits,farms,we have it all,one could walk around exploring the mountains endlessly.
All our trek programmes start off at 8am after breakfast at the lodge.
Packed lunch(usually chappati n vegges)&mineral water has to be carried by the guests themselves………local guides would acoompany .....
THE 3 day Programme
walk downhill to the nearby tribal village(erula tribe)………proceed get to banks of siruvani river
(supossed to be the softest n tastiest water in asia)and treak upstream to stages of
water falls………,possibility of a swim if the weather is supportive(absolutely no spectators there),lunch at maranatti waterfall taking a circle.get back to the lodge through another route
walk through jungles and farms…..the jungles mostly semi evergreen and farms of spices,vegetables,
fruits,rubber,coffee…….Tea estate visit(processing factory included) and again back through another
(little hard but interesting)(say20-22kms)
Visit the local tribal temple,scattered tribal dwellings,………mostly through
grasslands,great views of attapady,
